Bergkräuter Hirschbach – Re-opening of the Facilities on October 16th of 2011

The „Oberösterreichische Bergkräutergenossenschaft“ is an agricultural association
located in the Upper-austrian town of Hirschbach producing organic herbs.
According to the plans of the general planner arinco located in the city of Traun the „Oberösterreichische Bergkräutergenossenschaft” has enhanced their production facilities.

The „Oberösterreichische Bergkräutergenossenschaft“ in Hirschbach:
The association was founded by 25 local mountain-farmers in 1986 with the purpose of growing, processing and marketing herbs and spices.
The intention has always been the production of food according to high, organic standards.
The plants used grow at an altitude of 500 to 900 meters above sea level.
At the moment the association consists of 37 member-farms which all underlie strict scrutiny of the Austrian organic food inspection authorities.

The Project:
In order to be prepared for the future, enhancement and modernization of the facilities became necessary. The association invested in refurbishing and extending the storage- and logistics area
as well as the production-facilities.

The existing building was remodeled and an on-site shop was added. The actual production-premises were relocated to the new building and the surrounding landscape and infrastructure was adapted accordingly.

Re-opening:
On Sunday, October 16th of 2011 the official re-opening took place. The elaborate guest-list included regional farmers as well as renowned members of the political and business community.

Contribution of arinco:
The general planner arinco participated in the project by delivering the following elements: Layout and concept, preparing the plans and paperwork in order to maintain a building permit, tender-proceedings.
Time-frame: 2009-2010.
